"The Classic Mile"
The Caulfield Guineas is a Group 1 race for three-year-olds over 1600m at Caulfield. It is one of Australia's premier classic races and often features the best of the three-year-old crop before they tackle the Cox Plate or Victoria Derby.
First run in 1881, winners include many future champions such as Lonhro (2001), So You Think (2009), and Merchant Navy (2017).
Caulfield is a tight-turning track that rewards tactical racing. Home to the prestigious Caulfield Cup, it serves as a major lead-up to the Melbourne Cup. The track's unique layout makes it a true test of a jockey's skills.
